Privacy Policy

Zoozilance is an app for pet owners (iOS and Android): pet profiles, their documents, and finding vets and other places for pets on a map. Zoozilance does not provide veterinary or medical services.

The data controller is Vladyslav Andrieiev, an individual, Ukraine. Contact: hello@zoozilance.com.

This policy covers the Zoozilance apps and the zoozilance.com website.

Account

• email and password (stored only as a hash), or Sign in with Apple or Google — we then receive your name and email from them; Apple lets you hide your real email;
• your name and profile photo, if you add them.

Pets and documents

• name, species, breed, sex, date of birth, weight, photo, notes;
• pet passport: number, microchip number, issuing authority and date;
• documents you add (photos, PDFs).

Places

• places you saved (the "My clinics" section, «Мої клініки»).

Location

• Precise — only when you tap "my location" on the map or in search and have allowed it on your phone. The coordinates are sent to our server to find nearby places and are not stored.
• Approximate (city) — derived from your IP address to show your city on the map and in search right away. Our server uses the DB-IP database for this; we do not store your IP address for this.

Other

• search queries are sent to the server to run the search and are not stored;
• our hosting providers (section 4) may keep IP addresses and technical request logs for a limited time, for security and operation.

Cookies on the website

• a sign-in cookie — when you open a link from one of our emails (email confirmation, password reset) or sign in to the clinic panel, so the site knows it is you. It is removed when you sign out and lasts no longer than 400 days;
• a cookie with the site language — only if you changed the site language yourself; it is kept for a year.

These cookies are needed for the site to work, so we do not ask for separate consent to them. The site sets no advertising, analytics or third-party cookies.

We do not collect your phone number, payment data, your phone's contacts or advertising identifiers. Zoozilance has no ads, no behavioural analytics and no tracking.

• to run the service — account, pets, documents, finding places: performance of our contract with you (item 3, part 1, Art. 11 of the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection"; Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR);
• to show your city without asking for permission and to protect the service from abuse: our legitimate interest (item 6, part 1, Art. 11 of the Law; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR);
• precise location — only with your consent (the phone permission; item 1, part 1, Art. 11 of the Law; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw in settings;
• anonymised statistics — for example, how many people saved a place — to improve the service: our legitimate interest (item 6, part 1, Art. 11 of the Law; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR);
• service emails: email confirmation, password reset — part of performing the contract.

We process data under the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection" and, for users in the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.

We do not pass your data to other users or outside companies. It is processed only by providers working on our behalf:

• Supabase (servers in the EU, Ireland) — database, sign-in, files;
• Vercel — hosting of zoozilance.com;
• Resend — service emails;
• Apple and Google — Sign in with Apple or Google, if you choose it;
• maps: Apple Maps on iOS, Google Maps on Android; the map is loaded from their servers, and on Android, if you turn on "my location", the Google map receives it to show your position;
• Google Maps Platform — a place's Google rating: our server sends only the place ID, none of your data goes to Google.

We may disclose data where the law requires it.

Data is stored in the EU. Providers based in the US (Supabase, Vercel, Resend, Apple, Google) process data under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Profile and pet photos are kept in public storage: anyone with the direct link to a file can open it. The links are not published anywhere and contain a random identifier, so they are practically impossible to guess. Still, do not add a photo you would not want anyone to see.

A document you add is kept on your phone. It goes to the cloud only if you tap "Save to cloud" («Зберегти в хмару»); there it is kept in private storage and opens only for you, through a temporary link.

The app keeps on your phone:

• a copy of your data for offline use: profile, pets, the document list, saved places;
• documents you added, and copies of documents you opened from the cloud;
• an image cache and settings (chosen city, map pin).

Documents you add on an iPhone are included in the iCloud backup if it is on. All of this is erased from the phone when you sign out; before signing out the app warns you if some documents exist only on the phone.

Data is kept while you have an account. To delete your account: Profile → Delete account («Профіль → Видалити акаунт») in the app. Deletion is immediate — the following is deleted:

• your profile, photos and sign-in data;
• your pets with their passports, photos and documents — in the cloud and on the phone you delete the account from;
• your saved places.

A single pet can be deleted on its page, together with its documents and photos.

Deleted data may remain in Supabase database backups for a while, until they are overwritten.

You have the right to know what data we hold and get a copy; to correct it (mostly right in the app); to delete it; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent, such as for location, in your phone's settings.

Write to hello@zoozilance.com — we reply within 30 days. You can complain to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (ombudsman.gov.ua) or, in the EU, to your country's data protection authority.

Data is only transmitted encrypted (HTTPS). Access is limited by database rules: everyone sees only their own data. The session on your phone is kept in secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Android Keystore on Android).

Zoozilance is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

We will announce material changes in the app or on this page. The date of this version is at the top.
